WELCOME BACK
2021 was a bit of a disaster for keeping up with this. The world situation just made it difficult to mentally do things, even though, by rights, there was all of the time in the world. In summary how did MS and the world play together?

January – March. Crikey, bin day seems to be a highlight of the week, along with various meal kit deliveries.
April. Ohh a week away at Easter. Snow and a pint outside all in the same day. Some good wrist and balance testing with cycling and walking through fields in the dark.

May – getting busy now and I’m testing the wrist with paddling on Lee Valley white water course. For the first time in months we do something partly indoors with others – a first aid course. Given how accident prone I am, it’s a good idea to ensure that I am able to direct people how to fix me. Mr DB will disagree since on falling off the bike and breaking my wrist I told him just to give me a minute and I’d get back on.
June – really striking out now and we meet other folk to go paddling with and now we are sharing a car with 1 other person, after lateral flows and with masks.
July – we are feeling ok about things outside with people, fit and healthy so we do a canoe race. Paddling challenges my balance so all of the portages are interesting but after the first one we stay pretty stable. I’m going to post separately about paddling related ‘wins’ during 2021.
